Columbus Day declared free Community Day at Whitaker Center in Harrisburg, Pa.
Citizens Bank Foundation underwrites the program, now in its fifth yearHarrisburg, Pa. (September 18, 2007) - The Citizens Bank Foundation and Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts announced today that exploration will be free on Columbus Day, October 8, 2007, as part of Community Days underwritten by Citizens Bank Foundation. Community Days allow visitors to enjoy free admission to Harsco Science Center and Select Medical IMAX® Theater presentations at Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts, located at 222 Market Street in downtown Harrisburg.
On Monday, October 8, Harsco Science Center will feature the blockbuster exhibition, The Science of Aliens.
Select Medical IMAX® Theater will feature Aliens of the Deep 3D at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. and Roving Mars at 11:15 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Free admission to Harsco Science Center and Select Medical IMAX Theater will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Select Medical IMAX Theater admission is limited to one film per guest. Guests must be present to receive tickets. No rain checks or vouchers. All schedules and show times are subject to change without notice. Children under 13 not admitted unless accompanied at all times by an adult.
The Citizens Bank Foundation announced in December 2006 that it would make a $50,000 grant to underwrite four free community days in 2007 at Whitaker Center, continuing the record attendance program, which began in 2002. Community Days underwritten by Citizens Bank Foundation in 2007, which provide free admission to Harsco Science Center exhibits and Select IMAX® Theater presentations, have already taken place on Martin Luther King Day, Presidents’ Day, and the Monday after Easter.
