Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania announces 2008 Educational Improvement Tax Credit program recipients
PITTSBURGH (December 3, 2007) - Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania announced that it will award grants to the following three organizations through the Education Improvement Tax Credit program for 2008: Advancing Academics, the Pittsburgh Project and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. Each organization will receive $14,814, totaling $44,442.
“These organizations have demonstrated a firm commitment to maintaining high academic standards and providing the exceptional educational opportunities to youth in need,” said Ralph Papa, Chairman of Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania. “Citizens Bank is pleased and proud to support these deserving organizations through the EITC program.”
The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development established the EITC program in 2001 to provide companies with an opportunity to invest in children’s educational futures through scholarship and educational improvement organizations that provide scholarships and fund innovative programs that would have otherwise gone unfunded. Citizens has participated in the EITC program for the past four years, during which time it has provided $400,000 to 21 organizations throughout Pennsylvania.
