Patti Cloutier is latest Citizens Bank Community Service Sabbatical recipient in Rhode Island

Three-month paid leave is benefiting Tides Family Service

Providence, R.I. (December 3, 2007) - Patti Cloutier, communications manager for Citizens Bank’s Consumer Finance Division in Rhode Island, has been named the 2007 recipient of the company’s Community Service Sabbatical. Cloutier began her sabbatical; a paid three-month paid leave on December 3 at Tides Family Service in Pawtucket, a social service agency that is committed to assisting Rhode Island’s most at-risk children. Cloutier will return to Citizens in March 2008.

Cloutier will assist the Outreach and Tracking Supervisor at Tides in tracking adolescent students twice a day at home and at school. She will perform informal counseling and will assist in school and court advocacy. Cloutier will visit students at their homes and will speak with their families at family meetings.

“We are deeply committed to making a real difference in the communities where we live and work,” said Joseph J. MarcAurele, President, Citizens Bank, Rhode Island. “Our sabbatical program is of particular value to the communities we serve. Our colleagues have the opportunity to spend three months making a significant impact on the lives of people served by local nonprofits like Tides Family Services. Patti will bring valuable experience to its program.”

Citizens’ Community Service Sabbatical program enables a company employee with three or more years of service to work full-time in the community for three months and bring back to the workplace a greater appreciation of the social needs and challenges in the community at-large. More than 65 colleagues have been sent into their communities since the program started in 1994.

Tides’ mission is to provide the neediest youths and their families with the services they need at a critical time of their lives. Tides promotes family preservation and support of youth within their communities through outreach, tracking, home visits, education, court advocacy and other non-traditional services. A Cumberland resident, Cloutier has been a Citizens Bank colleague for eight years.
