What majors do you consider for the Program?
All majors are considered; coursework in Finance, Accounting and Economics is helpful but not required. The Program will offer class work and training in all accounting and financial concepts needed; however, candidates must demonstrate they’ve learned the basic skills required to continue with the Program.
What is the minimum GPA requirement for the Program?
A minimum 3.5 GPA is preferred.
Where will the program take place?
The Program will take place in Boston, MA.
How many candidates will the Bank hire for the 2012 Program?
Approximately 12 individuals will be hired into the Commercial Banker Development Program.
How do I find out if I’ve been selected? What is the interview process and when will final decisions be made?
All applications will be reviewed by our Recruiting team and a member of the team will contact you regarding your candidacy for this position. Initial interviews will take place in October and candidates will be notified by 11/2/12 if they have been selected for the second round of interviews taking place in November. Final selections and offers will be made in November and December 2012.
Is the Program position paid and am I eligible for benefits?
Yes, the 12 month program is a full-time paid position. As a full-time employee you would be eligible for benefits including healthcare, 401 (k) and retirement benefits, Insurance and other services (e.g. free counseling and legal).
Are international students eligible to apply? Do you sponsor international students?
Currently, RBS Citizens does not sponsor work visas for those entering this Program. All applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
When does the Program begin and how long does it run?
The Program will begin mid June and run for approximately 12 months. Following successful completion of the Program graduates will be placed in a Commercial Banking business line as a Credit Analyst.
What are the typical responsibilities of a Credit Analyst?
A Commercial Banking Credit Analyst is typically responsible for supporting senior level Portfolio Managers in evaluating new credit requests, renewals, expansion of existing credit facilities and annual reviews, as well as managing compliance with basic financial statement requirements and analysis.
What are the lines of business that I could be placed in?
There are a number of opportunities for those individuals who successfully complete the Program. Graduates may be placed in Middle Market, Mid Corporate, Commercial Enterprise Banking or a Specialty business line. You can visit the Citizens Bank website and click on the Commercial tab for more information on the various Commercial Banking business lines. Placement will be based on your performance and business line needs.
Where will my job be located after I complete the Program?
RBS Citizens is present in New England, the Mid West and the Mid Atlantic. The Program is focused in New England and it is likely that you would be placed in a business line within that area. However, the Bank is a growing business and we will work to accommodate placement across the footprint if the needs exists.
Will I have a mentor?
Yes, you will be assigned a mentor at the start of the program.
Will I receive any additional training after I complete the Program?
Yes, your training does not end upon graduation from the Program. Ongoing training will be provided to graduates in addition to targeted events for the graduating class.
