Standard Overdraft Practices
Standard Overdraft Practices: Standard Overdraft Practices come with your account. We may authorize and pay transactions you make by check, other transactions using your checking account number, and automated bill payments if you do not have enough money in your account. If we pay one of these transactions you will be charged an Overdraft/Insufficient Funds Fee. You can choose how we treat your ATM and Everyday Debit Card transactions that will overdraw your account. If you ask us, we will at our discretion authorize and pay ATM and Everyday Debit Card transactions when you do not have enough money in your account. Overdraft/Insufficient Funds Fees will apply. If you do not want us to pay these transactions, or if you do not make a decision at account opening, we will decline ATM and Everyday Debit Card transactions when you do not have enough money in your account. You will not be charged Overdraft/Insufficient Fund fees in that event. If we pay a transaction that overdraws your account (or return an item, such as a check, that would otherwise overdraw your account) we will charge you a fee per item (for check, in-person withdrawal, ATM withdrawal, point-of-sale transaction, or other paper, electronic, or any type of transaction or debit whether paid or returned). We will charge $22 per item for the first day that you are overdrawn but after that we will charge $37 per item. We will limit the total number of these per item fees charged on any one day to seven per day. Once you have overdrawn your account you must bring your account to a positive balance immediately. If your account remains overdrawn for three consecutive business days, we will charge a Sustained Overdraft Fee of $6.99 per day on the 4th business day and each day thereafter up to and including the 13th business day. Overdrafts are paid at our discretion. Meaning, we reserve the right to choose not to pay any item that would overdraw your account. For example, we may not pay an overdraft when your account is not in good standing, or if the overdraft request is for an excessive amount. Also, we reserve the right to not pay any item that would overdraw your account or that would draw against insufficient available funds.
