Citizens Bank® Everyday Points® Rewards Program Terms and Conditions
This agreement ("Agreement") is an addendum to the Personal Deposit Account Agreement and Fees and Features Guide and sets forth the terms and conditions that apply to the Citizens Bank Everyday Points® Rewards Program ("Program"). By enrolling in the Program at one of our branches or, if you apply over the telephone, or by using your Everyday Points® Debit Card ("Debit card" includes Business Debit Cards), or Everyday Points® Business Credit Card for the first time after applying for the Program, you agree to the terms and conditions of the Program. In this Agreement, "you" and "your" mean the person(s) who maintains an account with us individually and collectively "we," "our," "us," and "Citizens Bank" mean RBS Citizens, N.A. or Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania. If there is a conflict between any provisions of this Agreement and any provisions of the Personal Deposit Account Agreement, the provisions of this Agreement control.
How You Earn Everyday Points®
"Purchases" mean the total purchases posted on your enrolled Citizens Bank Account at a retail establishment using a Business Debit Card, Credit Card or Business Credit Card less any returns, refunds, credits, or adjustments that are not payments. The following are NOT Purchases and therefore points are not awarded on them: finance charges, other account charges or fees, balance transfers, cash advances, cash advances designated as purchases, Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and bank teller withdrawals, wire transfers, the purchase of money orders, cashier's checks, traveler's checks, gift cards, or other negotiable instruments, foreign currency, wager or lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, payments of loans, or similar cash equivalent (quasi-cash) transactions, (life) insurance and payment protection plan charges, and unauthorized transactions.
In our sole discretion, we may deduct Everyday Points® from your enrolled account in order to make adjustments for returns and cancellations with respect to Purchases.
"Recurring Payments" mean regular, prescheduled payments using your Business Debit Card. Please note that our ability to identify Recurring Payment transactions and award Everyday Points® is dependent on information required to be provided to us by the Merchant or service provider as part of the transaction.
Using your Citizens Bank® Everyday Points® Business Debit Card
Purchases with your Business Debit Card
- You could earn 1 point for every $1 you spend when you sign your receipt or select "credit" when using your debit card for point of sale purchases.
- You could earn 1 point for every $2 you spend when you enter your PIN for your debit card purchases.
Recurring Business Debit Card Payments
- You could earn 2 points for every $1 you spend when you use your card for recurring debit card payments.
Using Online Bill Payment
- You could earn 20 points for each bill payment you make using our Online Banking bill payment service.
Using your Everyday Points® Business Credit Card
- You will earn two (2) points for every $1 you spend on purchases using your enrolled Business Credit Card.
- Earn 3500 bonus points for your first purchase with your Business Credit Card.
Election of Business-Earn versus Cardholder-Earn Options - During the enrollment process
The Business must elect either the Business-Earn Rewards option or the Cardholder-Earn Rewards option. Under the Business-Earn Rewards option, all Cards issued to the same billing account will accrue points to a single Rewards Account, and individual Cardholders will not accumulate or be permitted to redeem points. Only an Authorized Person may redeem points on a Business-Earn Rewards Account. Under the Cardholder-Earn Rewards option, each Card will accrue points towards a separate Rewards Account established for the individual Cardholder. Under the Cardholder-Earn Rewards option the individual Cardholder may redeem points accrued and posted to their Rewards account, if the Business has selected Individual Billing for the monthly invoicing, the Cardholder-Earn Rewards option must be elected.
Pooling Everyday Points®
Business Debit Card, Credit Card, Business Credit Card
You may pool points earned on your business Debit Card and/or Business Credit Card by linking them to your personal checking account at account opening, by visiting a branch or by calling 1-888-333-7834. You can also log in to your Everyday Points® Account at citizensbankeverydaypoints.com or choose the Add Account feature to link your Accounts.
Pooling Points with Family and Friends
To pool points with family and friends or to create a Rewards "Account Group" you must have a checking or a Credit Card account enrolled in the Everyday Points Program. If there is more than one signor or authorized user on the account the first co-signor or authorized user to enroll in the Everyday Points program will be the Account "Group Manager" and the "Primary Redeemer". The Group Manager manages the Account Group and may add or invite other accounts enrolled in the Everyday Points® Program to join. Family and friends must provide the Group Manager with his/her debit card, credit card or checking account number to facilitate an invitation to join the Account Group. IMPORTANT: Do not provide the PIN, expiration date, or Card Verification Value (CVV) number on the back of the card. The invitation from the Group Manager must be accepted by the invitee. When the invitee accepts they become a "Group Member" as a "Redeemer" who can view and redeem pooled points or a "Non-Redeemer" who can view points only. The Group Manager has the ability to limit which Group Members may redeem points. You may join one account group.
The Group Manager may remove any account added to the account group. A Group Member may only remove accounts held in their own name. Accounts removed from the account group will retain all points earned and not redeemed on that specific account.
To view the pooled points for the account group you must log on to citizensbankeverydaypoints.com. For each group member you will see their name, the last four digits of the account number Redeemer Status and Point Balance. Point balances for each Group Member will include total points earned under "How You Earn Everyday Points". No account balances or transactional details for each account will be determinable based on viewable point balances.
Account Groups may only be created by logging on to: citizensbankeverydaypoints.com.
Business Checking Accounts.
Only one co-signor on a business checking account enrolled in Everyday Points may add his or her personal accounts to the business account for the purposes of pooling points.
How You Redeem Everyday Points® For Rewards
You must be actively enrolled in the Program. Everyday Points® must be posted to and reflected on a current account statement in order to be redeemed. You agree that any authorized signer on your enrolled account and any owner of a linked account can redeem accumulated points. We may charge a fulfillment fee when you redeem points at levels that are set by us from time to time. To redeem your Everyday Points, logon to citizensbankeverydaypoints.com or call 1-888-333-7834, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) Monday - Friday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) Saturday & Sunday. All rewards are subject to availability. Everyday Points® must be redeemed within thirty–six (36) months after the month in which the Everyday Points were awarded to your Account. If not redeemed, they will be canceled and removed from your Account.
Merchandise and Gift Certificate/Card Rewards
You may use points to obtain merchandise that we make available in the Program (the "Merchandise Rewards") and gift certificates/cards at participating retailers (the "Gift Certificate/Card Rewards"). We may change the merchandise selection or gift certificates/cards from time to time without notice to you. If particular Merchandise is no longer available or is out of stock, we may offer a substitute product of equal or greater value. You must return damaged or defective merchandise to the Merchant or manufacturer according to the Merchant's instructions. There are no returns, exchanges, or refunds for any Merchandise Rewards directly from Citizens Bank®.
The manufacturer's warranty, if any, is the only warranty covering Merchandise Rewards. We make no guarantees, warranties or representations of any kind, expressed or implied, with respect to the Merchandise Rewards or the goods or services offered by any participating Merchant of a Gift Certificate/Card Reward.
Gift Certificate/Card Rewards will not be personalized and are transferable to any person. They are not exchangeable, refundable, re-loadable, or redeemable for cash; and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Mechanical reproductions, copies, or facsimiles will not be accepted. Additional terms and conditions appearing on the gift certificate/card or otherwise imposed by the Merchant or retailer will also apply.
Important Program Limitations and Conditions
Only accounts and cards in good standing are eligible for participation in the Business Everyday Points® Program. We determine whether your account is in good standing based on several factors, including but not limited to overdraft history, payment history with us, whether you manage your accounts in accordance with the Terms and Conditions for those accounts, and whether you adhere to the Terms and Conditions of the Program.
If you or we close your Citizens Bank account or terminate your participation in the Program, all Everyday Points® will be forfeited even if your Citizens Bank account is later reopened or you re-enroll in the Program.
We reserve the right to disqualify any cardholder from participating in the Program and to invalidate all Everyday Points for abuse, fraud or any violation of the Program terms and conditions, at our sole discretion.
Point Value and Ownership
Points are not your property and have no cash or other value unless they are redeemed for rewards. Points are not transferable and cannot be bought, sold, or used as payment on your account.
Suppliers of Rewards are independent contractors and are not our agents. We do not offer, endorse or guarantee any of the goods or services provided as part of the Rewards. We do not warrant the quality, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose of any merchandise or service you purchase with your Everyday Points®. You must address any concern or complaint directly with the Merchant and agree that we are not responsible in any way for such purchases. You hereby agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless Citizens Bank, third party reward providers, and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, officers, directors, successors and assigns from all claims, damages or liability including but not limited to physical injury or death, arising out of participation in the Program. Further, you release us from any and all liability for any loss, expense, accident, injury or inconvenience that may arise in connection with the use or defect of any Reward or your participation in the Program.
The cardholder is responsible for any personal tax liability related to participation in the Program or as a result of points earned and/or redeemed. We do not offer tax advice please contact a tax advisor for individual circumstances.
Internet and Telephone Communications
We may rely on your oral and electronic instructions. In addition, you consent to the monitoring and recording of your telephone conversations with us for training or compliance purposes or to provide a record of your instructions. You agree that we will not be liable for honoring oral instructions received from any person claiming to be you, provided normal verification procedures have been followed. We may follow any instructions received by electronic means through the Everyday Points® Rewards website just as if you had given such instructions in person, regardless of whether or not you have personally initiated such instructions.
You consent to the receipt of all reports, transaction confirmations, account statements, correspondence and other information from us electronically through either (i) access to your enrolled account on the Everyday Points® Rewards website or (ii) the email address provided by you to us. We will not be responsible for your inability to connect to the Internet or to access the website or otherwise not to receive electronic communications. Electronic communications are presumed to be delivered to and received by you when sent by us, whether actually received or not. You acknowledge that you have access to hardware and software meeting the system requirements set forth on the Citizens Bank Everyday Points® Rewards website necessary to receive from us correspondence and records in electronic form.
Annual Program Membership Fee for the Business Everyday Points Debit Card
Your Annual Program Membership Fee is $25 and will post to your Business Checking Account within ninety (90) days following the date upon which you enroll. If you prefer, you may redeem 3,000 Everyday Points and have your annual fee waived by simply calling 1-888-333-7834 or we will waive your fee if you have a recurring debit card payment. If you cancel your membership and re-enroll at a later date, you will be charged the $25 Membership Fee at the time of reenrollment. In the case where your only enrolled account(s) in the Program is the Credit Card and/or the Business Credit Card, you will not be charged the Annual Program Membership Fee.
Changes to or Cancellation of the program
We may, at any time, add to, amend or change any of the terms, conditions or restrictions of the Program. The Program may be changed or discontinued but points awarded before the program is changed or discontinued will be honored for a limited period of time for merchandise and services offered in the Everyday Points® Rewards Catalog at the levels of points before the program was changed or discontinued, as applicable. We reserve the right to forfeit and cancel any Everyday Points ® which are not redeemed within 90 days after notice of cancellation of the program is given.
This Agreement and the Program will be governed by and construed in accordance with federal law and to the extent not preempted by federal law, the law of the state where we open your account, or, if we transfer your account to another location, where we currently maintain your account (without regard to choice of law provisions). Citizens Bank Everyday Points® Rewards Program is void where prohibited by federal, state, or local law.
