When Maureen needed extra cash to grow her business, Citizens Bank was there. As a small business owner, the proper loan can be all you need to not only survive, but to thrive. Watch this video to discover how she used an SBA Express Loan to bring her company to new heights.
Maureen: [Answers phone] Hello, and thank you for calling Skirt.
Reporter: Maureen Conallen-Doran always thought she had a good eye for what looked
good on her and on her friends. She had a passion for fashion. Living in New York
City through 9/11, she felt the pull back to her hometown on the main line, and
began to research and save for a boutique store.
Maureen: After a lot of research and trial and error, I found an organization out
of Norristown, Pennsylvania called Partners For Small Business, and what they did
was take ten banks, got them together so each bank just gave you a small slice of
your loan.
Reporter: Her business took off, with Maureen quickly learning how to keep up with
the inventory needs, but she says then came the crucial moment she thinks makes
or breaks a new business, when she needed to grow, and needed more cash.
Maureen: Citizens Bank was willing to give me this SBA Express loan and that is
really what changed my business from a small, fledgling little boutique to be able
to grow and become… I have two stores. I have a multi-million dollar business now.
Reporter: Her message to other entrepreneurs just starting: it’s not easy, you will
be turned down a lot, but the small business administration offers tons of resources.
Maureen: If you have a good business plan and if the business idea is good, and
it’s there, it can work.
