At Citizens Bank, we believe that investing in the communities where we live and work enriches us all. That’s why we give to organizations that are making a difference locally by enhancing quality of life and economic vitality in the communities we serve. Citizens Bank provides funding from the company and its charitable foundation.
Helping our partners #GiveGood
This holiday season, we want to express our gratitude for all the work being done by nonprofit organizations to strengthen our communities and help citizens in need. We’re proudly donating an additional $50,000 to five partners—$10,000 each—in appreciation of their efforts throughout the year. We invite you to join us in supporting these organizations and the ones in your community, so that together, we can #GiveGood to so many people.
Everyone needs a roof over their head and a warm place to stay. We support Boston’s Pine Street Inn for all they do in providing shelter and housing to nearly 9,000 homeless individuals a year, fostering a community that helps them rebuild their lives. Donate or get involved to ensure more people get the fresh start they need.
Teach Money Management
When you’re more informed about your finances, you’re able to make better decisions. We support Clarifi in their efforts to help people attain greater financial security in order to break the cycle of poverty in Philadelphia neighborhoods. Donate now to increase financial stability for individuals and entire communities.
We’re committed to fighting hunger in our communities. The Greater Cleveland Food Bank in Ohio serves upwards of 47 million nutritious meals every year. Citizens employees have proudly rolled up their sleeves to help them provide holiday meals through the “Carving Out Hunger” initiative for over a decade. Learn more about how you can help the Greater Cleveland Food Bank this holiday season.
We’re always looking for ways to support the communities we live in. Make a donation to the Hill Community Development Corporation to sponsor their initiatives geared toward reopening businesses, rebuilding homes, and restoring the Hill District of Pittsburgh to a thriving community.
We believe in supporting those who answer the call to serve. Through the Military Warriors Support Foundation, we funded, and our colleagues helped renovate a mortgage-free home for a retired army specialist and his family in Rhode Island earlier this year. Donate to give more veterans a warm welcome home.

Contributions vs. Sponsorships
We define charitable contributions and sponsorships as follows:
Charitable Grants and Contributions are made only to qualified, federal tax-exempt 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations, as defined by the Internal Revenue Service Code. Contributions are restricted to nonprofit organizations serving local residents in states in which the bank has a presence. Unless otherwise noted, charitable contributions generally are for program support. Citizens Bank looks for opportunities where our funding can have a clear, measurable impact on the community.
Sponsorships are payments paid to any for-profit or nonprofit organization for which Citizens will receive promotional, entertainment, and community relations value. Participation as a sponsor of an event or attendance at a community function is expected to help the company strengthen business relationships and networking opportunities and/or raise public awareness and strengthen visibility of the Citizens Bank name.
