Making Home Affordable Act
Citizens Bank is dedicated to the home borrowing needs of all of its customers. If you are a homeowner who has been unable to refinance due to decreasing home values, or are currently facing a financial hardship and need assistance with your mortgage payments in order to stay in your home, you may qualify for a Making Home Affordable Refinance or Loan Modification. (Please note: this option is only available to loans that are serviced by CCO Mortgage.)
- Refinancing - the Home Affordable Refinance Program gives homeowners with Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac mortgages, who are current on their mortgage payments, the opportunity to refinance and take advantage of lower interest rates and affordable monthly payments.
- Loan Modification - The Home Affordable Modification Program is for homeowners who are trying to prevent foreclosure and are struggling due to a reduction or loss of income or an increase in their monthly mortgage payment. Borrowers do not need to be past due in their payments to qualify for this option. There are other hardships that may qualify you for a loan modification.
