Going the distance in Queens
As part of the vibrant Queens community, Citizens operates 17 branches in the borough — and proudly serves as title sponsor of New York Road Runners' annual Citizens Queens 10K. On Saturday, June 20, we'll kick off the summer race season with more than 10,000 runners from in and around New York City, as well as our colleagues, customers and local partners running for Team Citizens.
Following the race, we'll host a free community festival for participants, their families and friends, volunteers and Queens residents. The celebration will feature the Flushing Meadows Kids' Race, music, refreshments, photo ops and giveaways. You're invited to join the fun!

Partnering with the world's premier running community
Through our collaboration with NYRR — a leading nonprofit dedicated to inspiring people and communities through running — Citizens helps champion athletes from greater NYC and around the world. Beyond the 10K, we're a Foundation Partner of the iconic TCS New York City Marathon each November and support other NYRR events throughout the year.
Citizens Miles that Matter
The Citizens Miles that Matter Awards, in partnership with NYRR, honor purpose-driven, NYC-based runners whose impact extends beyond the finish line into their communities and causes. We recognize that some of the most meaningful miles are run off the course!
As we mark the 50th anniversary of the TCS New York City Marathon's five-borough course in 2026, Citizens will give one athlete from each borough a $20,000 grant to an Official NYRR Charity Partner. In addition, recipients will receive a bib to run the 2026 TCS NYC Marathon as a member of Team Citizens. Winners to be announced in late 2026.
