Ted Swimmer is Head of Capital Markets & Advisory for Citizens Financial Group. A member of the bank’s Executive Committee, his responsibilities include overseeing debt and equity capital markets, mergers & acquisitions, loan and high yield sales and trading activities, leasing, asset-based origination, structured finance, valuations and research. He is also responsible for all sponsor and leveraged finance origination and the institutional client management group as well as the bank’s Global Markets business, encompassing interest-rate products, foreign exchange and commodities. Today, Citizens’ capital markets platform is a consistent top 10 lead arranger of middle-market loans and a top 5 lead arranger of sponsor transactions.
Swimmer serves on the bank’s Loan Underwriting and the Commercial Banking Executive Management Committees. Before being promoted into his current position, he had been the head of the Capital Markets Group since 2010. He assumed responsibility for the Sponsor and Corporate Finance Groups in 2014. Prior to joining Citizens in 2010, Swimmer managed Wachovia Securities’ Leveraged Finance origination activities.
Ted has his series 7, 63, 79 and 24 and holds an MBA in finance from Columbia University and a BA in economics and history from Lafayette College.
