How to manage your credit card in the Citizens Mobile App

You already use your mobile banking app to keep tabs on your savings and checking accounts, schedule payments and deposit checks. Did you know you can also use it for credit card management? The Citizens mobile app* makes it easy to manage your citizens credit card, so you can track your spending, rewards and more. Plus, it’s safe and secure, so you don’t have to worry about your information becoming compromised when you’re using the app.

Here's how to make the most of the app's features.

Monitor account activity

The mobile app puts your credit card spending at your fingertips. When logged into the app, tap on your credit card account to view a list of purchases and payments. Use the list to easily review what you spent and where and keep tabs on your payments.

Citizens offers 24/7 fraud monitoring. Even when you're not logged on, we're watching out for you and will alert you to any suspicious or potentially unauthorized activity on your credit card. You have the option of approving a transaction or reporting it as fraud and blocking it. Should someone use your card without your permission, you won't be on the hook for any charges, thanks to Zero Liability protection.^† Additionally, you have the option to add and remove authorized users to your credit card within the app for added security.

Freeze and hold cards

Think you lost your credit card? Take action immediately. Freeze your card to prevent any unauthorized use right from the app. Log in and tap on the Menu button, then click "Manage Cards." Select the credit card you want to freeze, then slide the toggle button next to "Freeze Card." A pop-up will ask you to confirm that you want to freeze the card — tap "yes."

Should you find your card later, you can unfreeze it from the app, too. Follow the above instructions and slide the toggle back to unfreeze the card.

Freezing your credit card is easy and gives you peace of mind that no one is out there spending away at your or your credit card company's expense. If you need to replace a lost card, follow the steps here.

Make credit card payments

Paying your credit card is also a breeze with the Citizens mobile banking app. Once you've logged in, tap on the credit card account then click the "Pay" button. On the next screen, choose your payment amount: the minimum payment, your last statement balance, your current balance or a custom amount.

Next, choose the account to pay from, either your Citizens checking or savings account. You can also connect an outside account by providing the routing number and account number and pay with that. Once you've chosen the account, pick the payment date, then tap "Pay" again. You're all set!

Redeem rewards

Cash back or rewards credit cards help you make the most of your everyday spending. With mobile banking, it’s easy for you to enjoy your rewards when you redeem them through the app.

Simply log into the app, choose your credit card, then tap "Redeem Rewards." Pick the type of reward to redeem, such as a statement credit or direct deposit.
