Spendthrifts vs. Savers – Who reigns supreme in the happiness game?

November 7, 2023

A new study examined how different shopping personalities approach big purchases and what their motivations are for making purchase decisions.

The poll of 2,000 American shoppers revealed that “spenders” who splurge on what they want tend to be happier with their lives, including their relationships, work and financial life.

In contrast, “savers” who wait for sales or necessity, are more prudent with their money by spending less on non-essential items and allocating less of their income to miscellaneous purchases.

Despite their different spending tendencies, both groups tend to consider factors like durability, frequency of use, and price when making big purchases.
