Managing your checking account doesn't have to be complicated. The following sections cover the basics of how your account works so you can take control of your money and avoid unexpected overdrafts and fees.

Overdraft Choices

Your Available Balance does not reflect the following outstanding items:

  • Checks you've written that have not yet been cashed and posted (i.e., subtracted from your Account Balance)
  • Online Bill Payments you have scheduled that have not yet been made
  • Pending pre-authorized debits

Only you know how much money you have available to spend. Remember to consider the outstanding items listed above in making your spending decisions.

You can find your Available Balance online from a computer, mobile device, ATM, phone or by visiting a branch.

Available Balance—What you need to know

  • The amount of money in your account is referred to as your Account Balance.
  • Your Available Balance is the portion of your Account Balance available to spend at any given time.
  • Your Available Balance will change as you make transactions during the day.
    1. Deposits will increase your Available Balance based on our Funds Availability Policy– not all deposits are available immediately.
    2. Withdrawals and purchases made during the day will reduce your Available Balance.

Check the My Accounts page in Online Banking to see your Available Balance. You can also find your Available Balance at the ATM, by phone, on your mobile device or by visiting a branch.
