On April 6, 2020 Citizens launched the Small Business Recovery Program, a $2 million commitment to business customers most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, 134 small businesses were selected to receive a $15,000 grant to help them through this tumultuous time.

The recipients of our Small Business Recovery Program grants are located across all the communities we serve. And the companies run the gamut from dentist offices to doggy daycares, food cooperatives to eldercare centers, plumbers to restaurants, and more.

Grant Recipient: Johnny's Victory Diner
Thanks to the $15,000 grant, this Rhode Island restaurant will be able to pay bills, make renovations, and add a new side entrance to the diner to help wait staff access the outdoor eating area.

Grant Recipient: Widmer & Davis Artisan Distilleries
At this distillery in Newport, New Hampshire, nearly $17,000 worth of vodka will never be consumed. Instead, it's being repurposed to make high-quality hand sanitizer to be donated and sold around the local community to combat COVID-19.
