CiZi is Citizens' AI-powered personal assistant. It's a chat feature that's built right into the app to get quick answers and find the information you need. CiZi is available 24/7, which means you don't have to take time out of your busy day to call or visit a branch for assistance.

CiZi doesn't just answer questions, it also helps you complete tasks. Need to update your address? CiZi can walk you through the process. You can also use it to check your balance, view recent transactions, freeze a lost debit card and take care of other banking needs.

To get started with CiZi:

  • Tap "Get Help" in the top corner of your screen to launch CiZi.
  • Enter your question.
  • CiZi will provide an answer, guide you to the right place or walk you through completing a task.

2. Deposit a check with your phone

No time to make a trip to the bank? With Citizens mobile banking app, quickly and securely deposit a check on the spot, anytime. It's easy — the app removes the guesswork by prompting you at each step.1

To make a mobile check deposit:

  • Tap "Deposit."
  • Enter the amount of the check.
  • Select the account you want the deposit to go to.
  • Sign the back of the check. Below your signature, write "For Mobile Deposit to Citizens Only".
  • Place the check on a dark background with good lighting and then take pictures of the front and back by tapping the camera icon.
  • Make sure your deposit information is correct and tap "Deposit" to finish.

That's it! And if the deposit qualifies for Instant Funds from Citizens™, you'll have immediate access to the money for withdrawals and purchases. You can also use your funds to cover purchases that post to your account that day if the deposit is made before 10:00 p.m. ET on business days.

3. Send money with Zelle®

If you need to split the cost of a bill, support a friend in need or pay your babysitter, you can use Zelle® in Citizens mobile banking app to quickly send money — even if the person you are sending money to uses a different bank.2

Zelle® is a simple way to send and receive money between bank accounts, typically within minutes.2 You don't need the recipient's bank account information — just an email address or U.S. mobile number.

To use Zelle® to send money on the Citizens mobile banking app:

  • Tap "Send Money with Zelle®."
  • Enter the recipient's email address or U.S. mobile number.
  • Enter the amount you want to send.
  • Confirm the transaction.

Sending money with Zelle® is secure because it uses the same technology that's used to protect your bank. Account information is protected with firewalls, state-of-the-art encryption technology and secure logins.

4. Transfer money between your accounts

With the Citizens mobile banking app, you can easily and securely move funds between Citizens accounts to help you manage your finances. Move money from a checking account to a savings account for better interest rates, for example, or from savings to checking to cover expenses.

To transfer money between accounts:

  • Tap "Transfer."
  • Select the account you want to transfer from.
  • Select the account you want to transfer to.
  • Enter the amount and tap "Transfer."

5. Pay your credit card bill

Citizens' mobile app makes it easy to manage your Citizens credit card. Track your spending and rewards, redeem points, freeze your card if it's lost or stolen and make payments — right from your phone. With mobile payments, there's no need to write checks, find stamps or stop by the post office, which saves valuable time.

To make a credit card payment:

  • Tap on the credit card you want to pay.
  • Tap "Pay."
  • Enter the payment amount.
  • Select the Citizens checking or savings account you want to pay from.
  • Select the payment date.
  • Tap "Pay."

6. Go paperless

Switching to paperless statements is more convenient and better for the environment. Instead of waiting for mail to arrive, view your statement right away. You also never have to worry about losing a statement or dealing with the hassle of filing cabinets. Paperless statements are easily accessible with Citizens mobile app whenever you need them.

To set up paperless statements:

  • Tap the menu icon.
  • Tap "Profile and Settings".
  • Tap "Paperless Settings".
  • Select "Go Paperless for All Statements" or individual statements.
  • Tap "Update."

7. Enroll in bill pay

With bill pay, there's no need to worry about forgetting a due date or late fees. Schedule payments, set up automatic recurring payments or make one-time payments to ensure your bills are paid on time, every time. Whether you're paying your mortgage, car loan, rent, utilities or credit card, bill pay simplifies your routine and keeps everything organized in one place.

To enroll in bill pay:

  • Tap "Pay Bills" from the main menu.
  • Tap "Add Payee."
  • Enter the payment details.
  • Select the payment date.
  • Tap "Continue" to finish.

Need to edit or cancel a payment? Just select the scheduled payment from the list under "Pay Bills." Then, select "Edit Payment" or "Cancel Payment" to update the details or remove the payment before it's processed.

8. Freeze or unfreeze debit and credit cards

Credit card management has never been easier. If you ever lose a debit or credit card or your card is stolen, freezing it will prevent unauthorized transactions. This gives you time to look for your card or obtain a replacement. You should also freeze your card if you see unfamiliar transactions on your statement to protect yourself while you investigate them.

To quickly freeze a debit or credit card:

  • Tap "Manage Cards".
  • Select the debit or credit card you want to freeze.
  • A popup notification will give you the option to freeze or cancel. Select "Freeze."

When you are ready to unfreeze your card, just go back to "Manage Cards," select the frozen card and confirm that you want to unfreeze it from the popup notification.

9. View your transaction history and more

Not sure how much money is in your account? Want to make sure a payment is correct? With the Citizens mobile banking app, get up-to-date information at your fingertips:

  • Check your account balance
  • See your transaction history, including payments, transfers and deposits
  • Spot irregular transactions or suspicious activity
  • View statements and other account documents
